SEEKONK — The Seekonk Planning Board recommended a billboard overlay bylaw for Town Meeting, with conditions. Members voted 4-0-1 on a member's motion, seeking a height limit, a decommissioning bond, a cap of three billboards and a pilot agreement recommendation. Town Planner John Aubin noted the bylaw allows 100-foot signs against a 40-foot structure limit.
Stephen Ross of American Outside Advertising offered $25,000 per digital sign face, or $50,000 a year, which he put at $1.5 million over 30 years. Bruce Hoch's motion for a negative recommendation failed for lack of a second. The board also voted 5-0-0 each to find the Wyatt Strawberry Patch and Kathleen Court developers in default.
