Seekonk Planning Board Approves Two Auto Business Site Plans and New Playground

SEEKONK -- January 14, 2020, Seekonk Planning Board unanimously approves two auto business site plans and a municipal playground. The board set a 42-vehicle maximum at New England Collision, 45 Old Fall River Road, 30 for storage and 12 for display under an existing Board of Selectmen license, and capped Continental Auto Sales at 265 Taunton Avenue at 59 display spaces, with both sites required to keep a 24-foot access drive unobstructed for fire apparatus. The board also approved a site plan for a new ADA-accessible playground on the town hall campus at 100 Peck Street, using artificial turf and approximately 40 gravel parking spaces, pending final engineering review by planning staff; construction is targeted to begin in April with a Memorial Day completion goal. In a work session, the town's planner demonstrated Intergov, an online permitting platform under which residents will submit planning applications electronically, though state law still requires a parallel paper filing with the town clerk to start the statutory clock.
