Seekonk Planning Board clears daycare and EV-charging site plans, stalls a 62-acre solar farm over screening and fire-access questions. The board unanimously approved a reconfigured parking plan for a nine-child daycare center at 709 Fall River Avenue and three EV charging stations at 341 Highland Avenue, plus a lot-line realignment on County and Chestnut streets. A larger agrivoltaic solar array proposed for a former dairy farm off County Road, backed by developer Blue Wave, was continued to September 8 after an abutter, Rebecca Henderson, pressed for extra tree screening and the fire department asked for a wider access road.
Blue Wave's Steve McDonough said the company provides "about $2 million" a year in combined payments to farmers, landowners and towns across its Massachusetts projects, with roughly $30,000 a year projected for Seekonk. The board also recommended the Select Board accept Madison Court as a town road, with $16,763.47 in surety funds tied to a crack-sealing condition, and opened work on zoning bylaw amendments, including whether the town can bar data centers, ahead of the fall town meeting.
