Town Meeting passes $76.8 million budget, 166-21

Seekonk Town Meeting approved a $76.8 million FY27 budget and rejected $975,000 for a Martin School parking lot. Voters passed the general fund budget 166-21, after adding $173,000 in Chapter 70 aid to the schools line, 158-33.

Durkee outlines plan to waive article readings

Seekonk's new moderator previewed changes aimed at a shorter Town Meeting. Moderator Mike Durkee used a "Town Meeting 101" session to explain procedure and outline plans to waive the reading of articles and ask the Select Board to limit article introductions to five minutes.
