Town Meeting · Meeting of April 24, 2026

Seekonk's new moderator previewed changes aimed at a shorter Town Meeting. Moderator Mike Durkee used a "Town Meeting 101" session to explain procedure and outline plans to waive the reading of articles and ask the Select Board to limit article introductions to five minutes. He said speakers from the floor would get up to two minutes.

Durkee reviewed the 75-person quorum and said stabilization transfers, zoning and new bylaws need two-thirds votes. Residents asked for dollar figures before the night of the meeting; one noted the emailed warrant includes a Fund Balances report. Durkee said Town Meeting starts at 6 p.m.

May 11, with a warrant review at 10 a.m. May 2.
