Seekonk Planning Board Approves Two Auto Business Site Plans and New Playground

SEEKONK — January 14, 2020 — Seekonk Planning Board unanimously approves two auto business site plans and a municipal playground. The board set a 42-vehicle maximum at New England Collision, 45 Old Fall River Road — 30 for storage and 12 for display under an existing Board of Selectmen license — and capped Continental Auto Sales at 265 Taunton Avenue at 59 display spaces, with both sites required to keep a 24-foot access drive unobstructed for fire apparatus. The board also approved a site plan for a new ADA-accessible playground on the town hall campus at 100 Peck Street, using artificial turf and approximately 40 gravel parking spaces, pending final engineering review by planning staff; construction is targeted to begin in April with a Memorial Day completion goal. In a work session, the town's planner demonstrated Intergov, an online permitting platform under which residents will submit planning applications electronically, though state law still requires a parallel paper filing with the town clerk to start the statutory clock.
