Select Board · Meeting of September 2, 2026
Seekonk Select Board splits 2-2, kills Medeiros Farm traffic study after Clerk Robert Archambault recuses over a conflict of interest. The board unanimously appointed William McDonough as building commissioner, poached from Attleboro, and approved Police General Order 5.07 on automated license-plate readers 4-0 with Archambault abstaining over "central civil liberty" concerns. More than a dozen residents used public comment to rehash the town's 2021 Medeiros Farm purchase and an $825,000 designer-services contract the board previously rejected; resident Ann Miller compared the stalled project to Penelope's unraveling weaving in "The Odyssey." The board also amended K&A Auto Sales' license to 22 vehicles after hearing a fired salesman defrauded customers, and voted 5-0 by roll call to enter executive session on firefighters' union contract talks.
